The wasteland grasshopper…

…has beautiful wings

This bird species owes its origin to these beautiful wings of an inconspicuous grasshopper. The value of things is also very changeable. Everything can look completely different depending on how you look at it. Let’s focus on the little things in life: can’t you see the luminous glow in this tiny scene? That mysterious glow?

This is the invitation for a smile 🙂 Just like that! Thank you very much! 🙂

Dance of the unconventional cranes
Life is a dance when everything fits together

Dried sea buckthorn berries and insect wings turn into dancing bird shapes if our attention allows it.

It may be that these are all just worthless remnants. But it is precisely these trivialities that bring the world to life. The magic lies in the smallest detail.

I can’t say it any better than Aristotle“The whole is more than the sum of its parts

The finds I have used here are: Sea buckthorn berries, insect wings, twigs, paper and metal scraps, other plant remains of unknown origin, watercolor, fineliner. And the colorful wings? I find them very special…

No animal was harmed!

…would you have known? The wings are from a blue-winged grasshopper

And no! I didn’t kill it for my work. The little grasshopper was lying in the sand on my path through the Döbritzer Heide. It had probably already completed its short life cycle naturally. I had actually hoped to discover bison and wild horses. However, I couldn’t even spot one of their hindquarters on the horizon. The landscape is still worth seeing. And this little grasshopper was another nice find for my work. Have you ever seen a grasshopper with such fantastically colored wings? Of course, these delicate structures are normally hidden under the rather inconspicuous wing covers. This beguiling sky blue gives the grasshopper a shimmering and shimmering effect for its short flight distances. Squatting on the ground, it looks totally inconspicuous again.

This motif is also included in my postcard set
